Every single day news of a violent action in the world challenges each of us to respond with awareness. Doing so is not possible without taking the deep dive into self-discovery. My experience involved facilitating a lot of high conflict positions and so I learned to use feeling uncomfortable to gain greater mastery. I would deliberately try something I hadn’t tried before just to keep learning and to test different ways of achieving results. Diving deep prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by the negativity I was working in.

Without taking the path to self-discovery to align with your personal purpose or destiny, violent acts and threats spread fear like wildfire. Using uncomfortable moments to dive deeper, dispels uncertainty and feeling overwhelmed.  Companies are reinventing themselves but to transform faster, leaders must evolve too. Toxic workplaces are unacceptable, compromising personal health, economic and societal well-being. To respond differently to disturbing news means making leading yourself to the core.

Reinvention, a documentary in production,  documents companies with great workplaces and the leadership journey that goes with it. In EP27 of the Insight to Action podcast, Polish film maker Mariusz Bocian shares his story of moving from toxic relationships to doing something he’s never done before.
